The role: Shida Healthcare LTD is seeking an experienced, innovative and driven superintendent pharmacist to join our team and register the premises for our online pharmacy with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).

This role sits within our pharmacy team and will work collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders to empower people to seek evidence based healthcare at a time and place that is convenient to them.

KPI: Successful registration of our premises with the PCN within the shortest interval possible and within budget, taking into account the Nigeria factor

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Initial responsibilities include:

  1. Successful registration of our premises with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN)
  2. Write Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all aspects of the pharmacy department as per the PCN guidelines
  3. Other duties as assigned by Management & the Board

What you need to succeed

ALL employees of Shida Healthcare LTD must, as a minimum, have completed their secondary school education and should have a pass in Maths and English. Evidence of this is essential.

Some specific roles might have additional requirements. Please see below:

  1. A laptop in good working condition
  2. Good internet connection
  3. Good working knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel
  4. Good IT skills including use of electronic health records
  5. Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Can speak and write (UK) English fluently
    • Can speak at least one Nigerian language fluently (desirable NOT essential)
  6. Excellent customer service skills
  7. Good telephone manners
  8. Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or other Pharmacy degree eg MPharm, PharmD from a recognised and accredited university in Nigeria or abroad
  9. Up to date license and registration with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN)
    • this will be verified on the PCN website
  10. Minimum of 5 years’ post NYSC experience working as a registered superintendent pharmacist
  11. Previous experience successfully registering a premises with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN)
  12. Not currently a superintendent pharmacist and has all the requirements of the PCN to become a superintendent pharmacist
  13. Working knowledge of product registration, import and export control requirements with regulatory agencies
  14. Working relationship and/or dealings with NAFDAC especially in the areas of product registration and importation
  15. Previous experience managing a pharmacy
  16. Knowledge of guidelines for safe prescribing and dispensing of medications
  17. Patient medication use review and counselling experience
  18. knowledge of medication side effects /contraindications – Drug/drug, drug/disease, and other interactions
  19. Detailed understanding and knowledge of dosage requirements and administration, chemical compounds, and pharmaceutical brands.

    • Must have the ability to handle different kinds of emotions as well as manage on the job stress

  27. Good leadership skills, can work alone and as part of a team
